Get this. This is what hit me the other day. The odds of getting 3 numbers right on the powerball is 1 in 359.06.
If you win, you get $7. $7 !!
How many of you EVER get three numbers to the powerball?? I would dare say not many of you!
Now, I happen to live near a few casinos. ( Lucky for me not close enough to get me into any real trouble. ) Anyway, I got a free invite into a $25,000. slot tournament. Top 25 players got paid with the lowest dollar amount being $50 and the highest being $10,000. Stay with me.
My mom discouraged me from entering by saying...what we have all heard... "You will never win that thing." Bah! As a dedicated person who loves winning money, I KNOW I am going to win every contest I enter! :D
Ok so it's a two day thing, so I have to plan it out to be there one day and then come back the next. I go and play and end up finishing 20th and win $100 bucks. Woo Hoo!!
But that's not my point.
Here's my point, once the contest was over I found out that there were only 198 entries. I also found out that even for their BEST tournaments, they have a little over 300 entries.
Basically I had a 1 in 198 to win $10,000!! I had a 1 in 8 chance to win $50 !! Compare that to the crappy Powerball odds of 1 in 359 to win $7 !! HELLOOOOOO
So that's just a small example of what you can really win if you sit down and think about it. I am not saying don't play Powerball...because lord knows I am going to win the Grand Prize someday.
I am saying you need to watch and play local tournaments if you get the chance!! The odds are sooo much better it's scary. Let that one sink in.
